Who runs this site

What we record

To see which products and which posts people find interesting, the site counts:

• which pages are looked at, including any search words typed into the site’s search
• when someone follows a link from here to Amazon, and for which product
• the label on the link you arrived by, if it had one (for example, which Facebook post it came from)
• the name of the website that sent you here, such as facebook.com — not the full address
• your country, as passed on by our network provider
• the kind of device: phone, tablet or computer

We do not store your IP address (your device’s network address), your name, your email or anything else that says who you are. The figures are only ever looked at as totals.

None of this is shared with, or sold to, anyone. There is no advertising on this site.

Visit records contain no personal information. They are kept while they help us understand which products and posts are useful, and are reviewed once a year.

Cookies

A cookie is a small note a website keeps in your browser. This site uses two:

A random visitor number (pf_v)

Made up by your browser, so that several pages looked at in one visit count as one visitor rather than several. It is deleted one day after it was made.

The campaign label (pf_c)

The label on the link you arrived by, if any, so that a visit that started from one post is counted towards that post. It is deleted when you close your browser.

If you choose to stop being counted (below), a third cookie (pf_x) remembers that choice for two years, and the other two are removed.

Once you are on Amazon

The buttons on this site take you straight to Amazon. Once you are there, you are on Amazon’s own website: Amazon’s privacy notice and Amazon’s cookies apply, not ours.
